Job said, "Oh that I might have my request; and that God would grant me the thing that I long for!" Job 6:8

This is a right prayer for those who have right desires, those who are following hard after God.

What is your request? What is the thing that you long for? Is it more of God and the riches He has in store for you or are carnal desires urging you to run after this world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life?

Life is before us. And the opportunity is there today. Let us be active workers in the Kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ and pursue Him with all of our hearts!

You know, it is so true that the "cares of this life" are like weeds that can choke out the growth of the Word in our lives.
What I really long for is to live and grow and not let those weeds have so much control over my spiritual life. Certainly weeds of sin need to be uprooted, but even the little cares of this life- thinking about paying the phone bill, when will I need to mow the yard next, what to make for dinner- these things, not even sin in themselves, can be weeds pushing the Word and thoughts of God out of mind.
I really want to be able to still manage those "cares" as I have to to be responsible and a good steward, but not let them take over my life, not let them consume all of my time and mental energy.
I know what is truly important- the eternal things, witnessing, loving people, glorifying Christ. I don't want to try too much to glorify christ in how clean my home is or how organized I am and neglect glorifying Him in reaching out and loving others.
I just don't want to stand there on the last day and have nothing but regret for lost time.
Know what I mean?

Yes. May God bless you and help you to line up your priority list with His!
